Friends, welcome to another new video on this channel. Recently, a movie called “Bad News” has been released. Yes, that’s the name of the movie. Now, is this “Bad News” good news or bad news for the box office?
This movie “Bad News” has emerged from the legacy of “Good News,” but it has nothing to do with “Good News” except that it also features a Bollywood actor and a Punjabi actor. Apart from this, the entire story has been changed.
Movie Concept – Bad News Movie
The concept around which the movie revolves is called “Heteropaternal Superfecundation.” I barely managed to pronounce it after reading, and without reading, my teleprompter would have gone haywire. This concept means a situation where two or more eggs are fertilized in the same menstrual cycle by sperm from different men. Yes, if you think there has been too much talk about sex, don’t worry; the movie doesn’t showcase much vulgarity. The film discusses this phenomenon and features Trupti Dimri extensively.
Family-Friendly?
I went to see the film Bad News Movie alone, but if I had gone with my family, or if you plan to watch it with yours, there are no scenes that would make you uncomfortable. Neither your parents would tell you to go get popcorn or water.
Plot Overview
In the movie Bad News Movie , Trupti Dimri and Vicky Kaushal meet at a wedding, fall in love, and quickly get married. After marriage, Trupti Dimri realizes that her husband, Vicky Kaushal, is interfering with her personal space, similar to what 99.99% of women in our country feel. Additionally, Vicky Kaushal’s mother frequently interrupts them, even on their honeymoon, and in one scene, she interrupts their wedding night. Frustrated by all these interruptions, Trupti Dimri decides to divorce Vicky Kaushal. They mutually agree to the divorce, and then Amy Virk enters the scene.
Comedy and Performances
This film is a comedy, and from start to finish, you’ll find comedy inserted everywhere. Some jokes are a bit over the top, and some of Vicky Kaushal’s cheesy lines feel odd. However, Amy Virk’s performance adds a lot to the comedy. Vicky Kaushal’s jokes mostly land well, but some miss the mark.
Acting
Vicky Kaushal’s acting is good, but I personally don’t find him fitting into a romantic character very well. Amy Virk also performs well, but it remains to be seen whether the pan-India audience will accept him as a movie actor. Comparing Amy Virk to Diljit Dosanjh’s character from “Good News” is unnecessary as they are completely different actors and characters.
Trupti Dimri’s Role
Trupti Dimri’s acting is commendable. Despite two controversies surrounding her, her performance is being praised. The first controversy is about her choice to do a commercial role after artistic performances in movies like “Kala” and “Laila Majnu.” In my opinion, whether Trupti Dimri does a commercial film or an artistic one, as long as she does justice to her character, it’s fine.
The second controversy revolves around the objectionable nature of her character. She engages with two different men within one menstrual cycle. However, if you look at Vicky Kaushal’s character, he is also shown to be enjoying with other women during the same timeframe. The movie also addresses stereotypes, like the notion that girls with tattoos can’t be good wives, and works to break these taboos.
Final Verdict
There are no particularly remarkable songs in the movie, except for “Tauba Tauba,” which has been trending in reels for the past one and a half months. Finally, I’d like to give my verdict on the movie. Although I’m not a big judge of movies, I’d give this movie 3 out of 5 stars. I deduct two stars because it feels like a typical Dharma Productions film with some repetitive elements and cheesy lines. The music also didn’t impress me much. However, the movie is definitely worth watching once, maybe even more than once.
If you are free in the coming days, definitely go watch the movie. And if you’ve already seen it, share your review in the comments section below. Let all your frustrations out. I’ll see you in the next video on this channel.
